It is no new information that sometimes anger can get the best of us and thus making us take extreme actions which definitely leads to regrets in the nearest future. This is the case of a female National Youth Service Corp Member who laid hands on a fellow colleague and resulted to her expulsion from the NYSC orientation camp.
It is indeed surprising to many that the news started to trend recently on various social media platform especially whatsapp groups yet most people still don't know that this event happened a very long time ago. Yes the sad event took place in the year 2014 at Issele-Uku NYSC camp, Delta State.
Although until this moment there haven't been any verified reason as to why the NYSC female corp member hit the male corper but from various sources it was concluded that she was commanded by the Male corp member to fall back in line on the parade ground which she didn't take likely and hence struck the guy with a slap out of anger. Although this being the reason for the slap hasn't been totally verified but be it as it may there is a very big lesson to learn here.
Some individuals might be wondering why an event which took place 2014 suddenly started to trend again but here is what you have to know. It is a good thing for Prospective Corp Members to be aware that management of anger is of utmost importance in the NYSC orientation camp. Infact PCMs should try as much as possible to stay away from anything that would aggravate their temper, the result might not turn out well at the end of the day if this advise isn't adhered to.
Now take for instance the male corp member decided to retaliate and in turn hit the female corper which am sure wasn't the case because only the lady was decamped, she might slump to the ground and faint or something worse can happen and that will be another sad story to tell.
The issue of anger isn't the only thing that can result to certain actions which leads to being decamped from the National youth Service Corps orientation camp but other rules that have been put in place by the NYSC management should be strictly adhered to. The unfortunate story is one which will guide PCMs from falling into wrong situations as they go to camp.
Despite the fact that some people are not finding the actions that was taken by the Camp management funny, some still believed it was a necessary action which will forever serve as a lesson to subsequent aspiring corps members. It is expected of Prospective Corp Members to respect and love one another in the orientation camp because you might not know who would be able to assist you in some or many ways after the camp.
PCMs can also go through the NYSC Bye-laws to see some of the major rules guiding the national youth service corp programme so as to have an easy and bad situation free service year.
Feel free to drop your opinion on this matter.
